Default All motor or turbo?

OK, I'm currently looking at a turbo setup but, I also want some feedback on N/A aka all-motor applications...

My questions are:

What are the advantages of having N/A instead of turbo?
What numbers do I expect to see? And also 0-60 & 1/4miles times...
What are the usual cost with N/A setup? (I only have $5000 to work on)
What are your fuel eco numbers?
And how long have you had N/A tuning?

Thanks for the feedback N/A pipz!

go turbo. You can spend a ton of money on all motor and just get up to 300hp or you can spend a lot less and start off around 300hp with a turbo

What are your fuel eco numbers?
If you're looking to modify your car, this really should not be in your realm of concern.

more power = more air = more fuel = decreased fuel economy. You'll also have to run premium fuel.

I would say all motor but it might cost a little be more. If you was going to go turbo I say rebuild your engine anyway then put on your turbo kit and you will get some real power but you have a spending limit huh? well it doesn't hurt to save up.

sorry to burst the buble, but i wouldn't really expect to do anything crazy with only 5,000. if you're asking this quesiton, i'm assuming you're not super familiar with how engine's work, etc. 5,000 will most likey not cover parts, installation costs, supporting mods, etc. wait till you have more money first.

Id say that the ZPI Stage 1 is the best bet, but that you need to factor in is the install... $1000 may do it, but id want to spend a little more.

i would go with boost.

dezod's kit use quality parts, and have a base a/f map to use till you get your car tuned. the kit is around 3k, so that leave you a little money to do some internals (such as sleeves if you wanna crack the boost up, you block needs to be able to handle it) if you do the work yourself.

so over all

get a bolt on turbo kit (i recommend dezod)
start to work on internals (block and head)

if you want to take the N/A route... talk to tcpete... he's the only one i've seen that has a full N/A setup with the high comp pistons and such.

300hp without turbo? I'm not arguing but I am curious how...

plus you can use a oost controller to add more driveability to your car by turning down the boost, the back up to burn em.

overall i prefer all motor because you gain more respect that way with people but with our cars all motor is just way to expensive and our engines arent very responsive to them. so if i were you go forced induction less expensive more horsepower.

Fully built engine from top to bottom with nothing left out and balance and blue printed. It will probally cost around 10k to do. Here are things a stroker kit, pnp head, oversized valves, higher compression pistons, cam, piggyback ecu if not a standalone, ie. There are too many things to list. Resleeving the block to a bigger bore.

n.a. will cost you money but so will a turbo application
either way the motor needs to be built weather you go n.a. or turbo..

turbo will be the cheaper way out though..

N/A is expensive up front
F/I is expensive in the long run

Either way your spending money, so just decide how/when
