Default Anyone with 5spdl flush/fill their tranny fluid lately?

Just got mine done today, and remember that weird thing that happened when you would up 1st gear pretty high, clutched, and it would "pop" out of gear just as you touched it to switch to 2nd? Like when the car was brand new.
Well, I thought it was kinda cool. And, it's happening again =) Pointless post, really, just seeing if anyone has a similar situation, or I'm just special.

yea, wish it was like my moms 03 jetta. Shifts so smooth even with 115k, however when her car is cold it jerks so hard. It is funny because it will feel like it is going to stall so you give it more gas then the turbo spools some and it just takes off and jerks

I'll be changing my fluid monday when I get off the boat. Using Eneos 75w-90 M/T. Also got the Doc I cable end shifter bushings to help it out a lil. Can't wait to see the difference. Is it really that noticeable?

that's wat I have eneos changed the car so much I had redline for a month and it felt like complete crap then I switched over to eneos and a week later got the Dr I cable bushings. HUGE difference, very stiff at first while u get use to it, but it feels much better to shift. ur gonna feel alil more shifter vibrations though, but that's bc its being changed from rubber to a solid mass. like IDK if u guys ever throw it in 5th on the hwy and u feel 5th's slight vibration when u tap the gas and let go of it, that gets alil worse with the bushings but its completely normal. nothing bad

ah ok glad to see that popping happens on its own. its happened to me and i was thinking that it was from me pulling on the shifter too early before i'd pressed the clutch. good to know

Glad to hear Dr. I's vibration increase is normal. Makes sense that it's solid not rubber. Have mine here, just need to pick a day to install them. It's been sunny for like 4 days dunno why I haven't done it yet.

Is it hard to change your tranny fluid yourself in a manual? Maybe I'll look into better fluid next 60k miles.

It seriously only took me 30 minutes all together to install bushings and drain/fill tranny with Eneos 75w-90

just get it done now and you'll thank us later
