I've had one before and I don't think it's worth the money. If you end up going forced induction or doing serious modifications, you're probably going to chuck it.

u can use safc-2 on scions?? i thought they only work for hondas. i have it on my rsx with i/rh/e. after dyno tuning, i gained 10whp/12tq. i'd say its worth it if u can find it for under 200.

my question is how do you tune the thing? do you have to have tuning experience in it.

I've got the directions for the new RSM-GP, however, I can't find a pinout for the ecu to wire it in. I can e-mail you whatever directions you need if you can tell me how you wired yours up.

No, it's not a Honda specific application. An S-AFCII is an air flow controller that lets you lie to your ECU. While it is possible to gain 10hp by properly tuning your air/fuel ratio, you should also consider future modifications before spending $300 on this. If you know you're going to turbocharge your car, you'll probably going to want to be able to adjust the timing and you'll need something more powerful. I sold my old one for $200, so if you look around online, you can probably find one around that price range.

would it be pointless to get one if your going to supercharger the car?

^maybe. depends if the s/c comes with a ECU reflash or not. if it does, u gota take the safc-2 off. if no, then u can dyno tune with the s/c and gain more power with better gas mpg.

so the safc-2 DOES work for the tC? if it does, i'm gona get it. before anyone tunes the thing, they should be sure they are NOT going to add anymore bolt-ons b/c it would mess up the a/f settings u have already tuned for. so be sure u have the big 3, i/rh/s-pipe/e, then tune it and u'l be set. u have to take ur car to a dyno w/ a/f readout and the professional there will tune it for u.

safc-2 however cannot tune cam angles or advance timing.

EVERYONE...

S-AFC-II should not be used to fully tune your car... It only adjust every 600 rpms... so in between that you can be going lean... This is for the added fuel for cars that have reprogramed ecus or standalones that just to on the spot adding of fuel, for test purpose... That or to look cool in the show... I had one on my xB... theres no instructions in it yet for tC so if you do it your doing it on the fly

I put an SAFC (blue screen), AVC-R, and TurboTimer on my Escort. Took me about 3 days to figure out how to make it wire up but wasnt hard. I ended up just adding a 2BAR MAP sensor off of an 88' Turbo Sunbird and spoofed the throttle position signal to the AFC (and AVC-R)
