Default ATF fluid leak!

Well I made a not so exciting discovery this afternoon. Walking out to my car after work today, I noticed a small amount of fluid (about the size of a dime) on the ground under my car. After crawling under to investigate I'm certain it's leaking from the drain plug, I changed my fluid 4 days ago, just a drain and refill but I found some fluid on the back of the tranny housing bolts. I didn't notice any streaks/ run marks anywhere else, which is good! When it comes to the drain plug, I was a bit surprised to find there was no crush washer on the plug, now should I drain and refill the fluid and place a bead of RTV silicone around the plug? Or does anyone else have any thoughts? I'm a bit concerned as an 06 with less than 30,000 miles shouldn't be leaking fluid!

If I remember correctly, there should be a crush washer that needs to be replaced as well. When I did mine I didnt tighten the bolt all the way, so it was dripping oil, when I went back under and tried to tighten it, I used the frame to keep me stable, and was able to turn the bolt another 1/2 turn. I would make sure you replace the washer, and have it tightened down all the way.

yeah... and most the time that "crush" washer as mentioned above is usually one made out of copper. So if you go that route...just be careful to only tighten the correct amount. Over tightening a copper crush washer can damage it and cause it to leak.
