Default ATF question..............

hey. i have about 97-98k on my 06. and i just wanted to know if flushing out my trans is a good idea. i have been reading on this site ppl saying to just leave it alone. or it wouldnt or doesnt matter? so i just want other ppls opinions on it. and if so, i was thinking if amsoil ATF synthetic would be a good choice? any syn? or just stick to reg ATF oil? help! thanks!

you should be changing the fluids in an automatic around every 30000 miles, dirty fluid is what kills them, same with motor oil, change every 5000 miles........

If you change your fluid and start to have problems it is not from changing the fluid it is a problem that finally came to light from never changing the fluid.........

i would say go with OE t-4. its probably cheaper and there is not reason to "upgrade" and risk your trans. esp. when t4 does the job just fine. newer cars with t4 and world standard are too picky to be messing with.

Mobil 1 makes a synthetic ATF that meets T4 among a bunch of other specs.
