what would i need to do this? one of my friends did it ealry on to his jetta... i made the mistake of getting an auto and now i want a 5spd

dig up a post by 318_tc, i think he did a thread about how he made his auto tc a manual.

but he had connections so that he got the parts for little or nothing. take for instance, the manual transmission, 3 grand brand new, you could find a used one for less.

but it ain't easy.

its a big deal, i have a friend who did it on a BMW 5 series, he's pretty good with cars, but it took him and a buddy multiple days to get it done.

 

Wouldn't it be easier and maybe chepaer to trade ur Auto in and buy a 5speed?

 

thats what im saying. hed have to swap everything over from his old car though. i love his car even if it is an auto.

 

It would be easier but for ppl like me, when/if I do it I cant just trade too much work on the car....
