i was wondering if anyones done a valve body upgrade from a trans shop or from zpi, or even then stage 1 upgrade, i have the turbonetics kit on my 05 rs1 4spd and it seems that the trany is not going to hold up to this abuse

 

I would LOVE to know as well. Are you having problems currently with your tranny? What PSI are you at?

wat he said. I have a t-netics kit on my auto tc and I havent noticed any of those problems

 

the smoke was coming from an oil leak from my return line, it was leaking on my tranny lines, and the tranny does slip every once in a while i was just freaking out, i got underneath my car and got some brake cleaner and cleaned all the oil off and there is no more smoke

 

Good to hear Also, i'm a turbo'd auto as well, in vaccum, when you let off the gas, do you get a stuttering blow off sound?

I've got the Turbonetics Evo wastegate and the Greddy Type RS BOV. Wastegate dumps to my downpipe and my BOV is released to the atmosphere.

 

8.5psi is pushing a lot of power. Do you have a transmission cooler?

 

Definately get a tranny cooler... they're only like $50 ... You can get a B&M or something... but if you're pushing the car hard.. I'd look into a valve body upgrade... The auto tranny on my old 99 Turbo'd Corolla slipped like crazy after 6 months of abuse

 

Could any of you guys tell me if the ZPI stage o turbo kit at 6 psi would cause any problems to the auto tranny. Thats the turbo I have in mind...

 

Thats pretty safe boost.. but I'd get a tranny cooler anyways.. because any boost is going to make your tranny work harder

 

i found out my tranny isnt slipping, it is sticking, it will try to shift but wont easily, it is hard shifts, i put some lucas tranny no slip in and it shifts a little easier, but im waiting on the tranny shop to calculate how much pressure my lines and tranny can handle, because the tranny cooler adds to the psi and i want a massive tranny cooler, almost ridiculous, i have the brake vents that go on a bmw in the front for the tranny cooler, and i want a tranny cooler with a fan also, the brake vents were only 40 bucks and i will have to route some vent hose like what you would use for an a/c or duct, and it should work,
