Its not stupid but when its super loud and you can hear it shifting "auto" style then its stupid lol. When Im driving economically I try to keep RPM's as low as possible so they cant hear when I shift lol

EDIT: When IT shifts rather...

someone put it well. Its not stupid but its obvious. When you hear an auto with an exhaust and the note just keeps going and going and going. Its obvious they are running automatic. Nothing wrong with it tho.

As long as the ride is kept header-free it should be alright and not too loud. If she decides on a header later on then throw about 20 resonators on there lol or tell her to drive it like a stick lol.

Mine's auto with the TRD exhaust. It's noticeably loud when you're inside the car and driving stop/go. On long drives it's not as noticeable if you keep the car at a steady RPM.

The best exhaust sound in an automatic is produced by Infiniti. The way the VQ series engine sounds like on the (FX35, G35 coupe) is great. The FX35 sound is the best out of the two.

an aftermarket exhaust system still represents the same purpose on an auto as it does for manual....so i dont think its weird...personally i have the TRD exhaust on my auto and i love it..n i dont mind the shifting sound...iam not ashamed to have an auto n could care less what others say...an auto tC can still burn 1st and even 2nd gear...basically its got power, not as much as its manual counterpart, but its fine with me...i love my auto tC

I agree. I have an auto which I have just started to mod. Ive been running with the stock axle-back unbolted and I like it. I just ordered the Megan cat-back which comes with a silencer so if I ever do get tired of it I can quiet it down a little. Its cool, whatever...the only time i feel slightly ashamed is when I pull up next to an SS Camaro or a chevelle or something. That makes me feel about 3 inches tall...lol.

I too have the auto with the TRD and I think it's great.
Nice sound, without being obnoxious, and it doesn't look like one of those stoopid fart pipes.
Auto's are great. Don't let others rag on you for your choice.
If you do anything for other people, you'll be perpetually unhappy in life.

Enjoy it!

I wanted my tC to sound more "MANLY". So I had Stylis install the PrecisionMuffler.com Axle Back. Its not as loud as the TRD Exhaust, but that's ok because I just wanted a more beefier tone than stock. When I first got my tC, my peeps were like "bro, you got a chick car." Now, they really like what I've done with the tC. They are always giving me compliments on my ride and my exhaust.
