Default AWD TC

So I was thinking to myself the other day if anyone had atempted an AWD TC. I know the reaction most people have is NO. but I mesured a toyota Matrix the other day and It is actually about 2in shorter than my TC. I know there would be some clearance isues but if anyone has looked under there TC there is a lot of room. Any thoughts on the subject?? Seem like a little wast of Money but thats the cost of customization.Yes I did search the fourms for a while before I asked my question.

Of course people have thought of an AWD tC, but all the man power and $$$ to convert just isn't worth it IMHO. With all that 'chedda' you're better off just buying a Subaru WRX.

I agree with Chris (weird huh?), save the money you'd need to make a tC AWD and buy a MazdaSpeed 3. It'll do 155 MPH outta the box.

Oh wow...155mph.....

When you plan on using that limiter eh? Find a road course big enough maybe, but then you'd be laid waste to by every other car there. On the strip? If you're trapping 155mph then you're running <10.0 seconds. On the street? No, I won't make the assumption that you're stupid enough to endanger other people like that.

He might be referencing the power and gearing allowing it 155 mph. The tC at max power and top gear would hit 140ish? Who knows. Anyways, if you're looking for an AWD tC you'd be ahead to, oh, I don't know...

consider using a transmission that'll mount to the 2AZ block.

Have you forgotten that the RAV4 has awd? Start there. The 1ZZ transmission won't fit to the 2AZ. Rick McCallum has already looked into that.

I know the RAV4's transmission is automatic but hey, maybe enough parts will swap to convert the existing transmission into an AWD one. The RAV4 has AWD; start there.

Man i posted sontin similair to this and everyone bashed on me as if i wanted to trade i a tc for a civic lol. The reason why alot of people likw myself want a awd tc is becuase the tc is the best looking affordable car made. THERE IS NO 2 DOOR COUPE WITH AWD MADE TODAY!!!YYYY? (excluding audi tt and porche)the 3000gt was amazing but had problems. Anyone know if th new 2008 g35 couple will be awd? Someone has to make a reliable powerful awd coupe.
Sure WRX and EVO are nice but the slick body on a TC is the best headturner.
