Default best cat back exhaust/intake for an 09' tC

I'm getting a 5spd in a couple of weeks. I want a setup thats not too loud, but gives the car some more hp/torque.

bud your not going to see/feel anything from an intake and exhaust. its mainly for sound and thats it. on that note, do you want and exhaust that looks stock or a cannister style? what do you have to spend...etc!

oem-
1. precision muffler makes a great/ cheap axleback using a magnaflow muffler and it sounds amazing.

2. if you have a little more money i would suggest the magnaflow cat-back. i do not have experience with this one but from what i heard, people gave great reviews!

canister
1. tanabe concept G sounds great but is pricey
2. tsudo is a great company with a cheap exhaust but you get what you pay for, fitment and quality is not like the tanabe
3. HKS HI-POWER ftmfw!!!!! my best suggestion, can be found used for $250 and sounds like love haha!

Hey i'm running an intake and the magnaflow catback and I do feel the difference. I love my exhaust but i've also seen the HKS on alot of tc's and they sound great. And as for the intake Injen advertises a 15hp gain? I'm sure it's less but you'll feel something.

no...you think you feel something because its louder. you will not feel the difference! and why get something obnoxious. get something that sounds clean like the hks or magnaflow!

how exactly do you come to that conclusion? ive gone through 7 different exhaust set-ups and heard many more, i know what sounds good and what gives you power! the only thing that you might be able to feel is a header. By the time you get a header, you will get annoyed of the rasp and will want to have a resonator welded in. by that time you dropping over a grand into an exhaust for 15 whp and it still doesnt even sound great?!?! do yourself a favor if your going to be wasting that much money on an exhaust, buy a 50 shot wet direct port nitrous system, you will be a lot happier. ariese if you have nothing to contribute to this forum than get the hell off!

ok let me clarify, it can give you up to 8hp (highly doubt it more like 3-4 whp) but you really cannot feel that small gain. its nice to say yeh this mod gave me this much hp but when it comes down to it, its nothing thats going to help you win a race! if you want power invest in f/i (turbo/nitrous), if you want sound, stick with a cat-back and intake.

no if you were to install
full exhaust
intake
pulleys
clutch
lightened flywheel
etd
lsd
than yes you will feel a significant difference

hmm these posts take away from the fun of modifying our vehicles.. if you want significant power gains go f/i, but if your not looking to invest the money and time to maintain your system, why not go bolt on. You will get some whp gains, and it gives you some time to wrench on your car! It's a lot smaller of an investment, and if your not satisfied, research into a solid turbo kit or supercharger. youngflyer... you've gone through 7 different types of exhaust systems. You MUST have some slight idea of what im talking about...

however, whats a good exhaust? ive heard good things about magnaflow and they sound pretty nice and NOT so ricey. i hate fart cans haha

that would be pointless? money spent on a intake when that money can jus save up for FI. i dunno jus my 2 cents.

good exhaust? hmm Agency Power, Skunk2, Ptuning, Tsudo, Megan. these are all catbacks

now u can mix and match tsudo, megan midpipes and invidia or megan spipes.

and now the axlebacks SO many to choose from, id personally go with tanabe concept G, HKS, greddy or others

i was running megan oe-rs and stock midpipe intake and header back
