BEST INTAKE?
ok guys bout to buy an intake.. and i was looking for an intake that fits this criteria:
1) Deep Mean Tone (not super loud.. but a very nice noticeable aggressive sound)
2)+hp (not just bs... i mean you can feel it)
3)whistle
noise =D we all like to whistle...
4) $150-$250

GET AN INTAKE FROM A MUSTANG GT CAUSE WE ALL KNOW MUSTANGS HAVE EIGHT CYLINDERS SO THAT MEANS YOU WILL GET TWICE THE GAIN FROM IT TRUST ME I HAVE IT AND I GET LIKE FORTY HORSEPOWER FROM IT PLUS I USE TWO HEADERS SO I GET LIKE FORTY MORE FROM THOSE.

MAXAM,
I would say go with a CAI vs a short ram... Weapon R may dyno similar to injen/K&N cold air, but i think that is BS.
Usually dyno's will have the hood open with a huge fan powering air onto the engine.. So the weapon R will have access to all kinds of airflow. In normal driving, with the hood closed, the weopon R won't have that kind of air to suck in.
So, i say narrow it between injen and K&N. :-)
K&N has a bit straighter of a design, so it probably flows a bit better. Plus you can't beat K&N filters. I can't speak for injen, but when you stomp on the K&N, the difference is really unbelievable. (although it's the first time i've ever driven an intake)
Hope that helps!
