it doesnt matter if its standard or auto .the only difference is the flywheel ....what else is wrong with it besides the rod .becuz if u didnt mess up the head and theres nothing wrong with the block and the cranks fine just get new internals and make sure the cylinderwalls arnt scared bad and if not just get them honed out ....

so the full scoop of what happened was that i was in third and got on it but not WOT and around 4500/5000 rpm it jus sorta died and at the same time i felt sum stuff hit my car that fell out and pulled over right away. my friend said that he saw sparks and i followed the oil slick back a ways and i found a rod that broke in half but it was night so i couldnt really find much more. luckily i was like 2 blocks from the shop i go to and called the owner up and we pushed it back to the shop and hes going to look and see all that broke and hope fully its jus the rods and internals

You should be able to strip them and just swap the short block. That's what get's done at most salvage yards that do repair work. Ebay is probably your best bet.

Who did the tune on the car? Sounds like major detonation may have been the problem. The rods dont usually break from that kind of boost. Did it spin a bearing or did the rod just break in half?

im no expert, but if he found a rod on the ground dosent that mean his block is nowhere near fine. It had to get out somehow. Your head still maybe be good though. GL, u know this calls for a built motor now

konoku performace in santa rosa did the install and tune. hes good. idk if i can afford to get a built motor but i will prob build it eventually. i only have like 1500$ so we will see what i can do.

-10 psi should be fine i have a friend that is running 10psi and it works fine.

1500 should be able to get you new rods and pistons and 500 bucks to help with labor. If your cylinder walls are damaged you want to look into a new motor. Save time and resources and do it right the first time...dont cut corners
