just make sure when u do rebuild it its done right and and get a good tune out of it becuz i can push a little over 400whp off the stock block with the emanage ultimate with the zpi stage 1 kit at 12psi i made 320whp on my first build and ran 12.53 in the 1/4 then bumped it to 14psi but just to be safe keep it at around 12psi cuz i blew my motor the first time but that was cuz i had a bad manual boost controller and it over boosted me to 45psi so i bent a rod slaped the piston took a chip out of the lower taper on the sleeve and took out 2 valves and split the piston lands right down the center so i kno how it feels lol but i also build performance car for a living ...but good luck with that

This is the exact same thing that happened to mine last friday on my way to work. I had my car tuned by an AEM pro here in my town also. I will just tell you this your block is F-ed and so is your head. Sorry to say that but everything in mine was toasted. Sorry for your loss it is never fun.

watching - BTW I have been running 12-14 psi for the last 14 months (and 8-10 psi for the previous 14 months) with no problems so I'm REALLY interested in what went wrong. Keep us posted....
Also what engine management are you using?

before you by this engine find out what year it is the 07 and newer engines have oil jets to cool the lower part of the piston that makes it perfect for a boosted app.

it wont be a problem of fitment i just put a 07 in my 05 but when it comes down to it that engine is in a verity of toyota cars including the pontiac vibe 08 09 its just if you plan on a build finnd a 07 or newer 2az-fe the 06 doesn't have the jets for the oil unless its a late in the year prodution that means it was built in late 06 the manufater tag says 06 but the car is sold as a 07 its a better all around bottom end to be dealing with call a salvage yard you might have to buy a hole car i pad 1800 for a wreaked tc took the engine and sold the rest in parts for 1500 and kept alot of the main wireing that is in the car just incase anything ever happens to mine. sorry for the runon of wording
