if i were to get new rotors, do i want slotted, drilled, cross drilled, cross drilled slotter, or whatever else? i just want to improve on the stock system. i'm not gonna be drag racing or going to the track. i wanna get rotors and new brake pads. for brake pads i want something that's not gonna dust as much, but still good bite. i've heard ceramic pads are pretty good-has anyone found a set of those that they like a lot, or know of a company that has a good set that fits the tc? i gotta do the brakes like this until i have enough money to get a big brake kit, and also until the big guys come out with their brake stuff. i was actually looking at the celica big brake kit from trd, but it's expensive. i need more options so the companies will start competing and lowering prices a lil.
get slotted. you may have issues with drilled/slotted rotors cracking and they're hard to find someone to turn them.
your braking performance really is more from larger diameter pistons (or more of them) on your calipers. that and the pads.

To stop faster, forget about getting new rotors for the time being. Tires will make the biggest difference, so start with some better, stickier tires. Then replace the stock pads with some high performance pads like Hawks. It will be tough to find a pad with less dust than stock the performs better, but I'm sure there are some that don't produce a whole lot more dust than stock. You can also add stainless steel brake lines and high performance fluid, but they will make only a small difference compared to the first two things.
Slotted, drilled or dimpled rotors aren't going to make you stop any better. A big brake kit from Stoptech, TRD or others will, but if you're not racing then it's just overkill.

If you can still get a lifetime warranty on rotors from those auto parts stores (murrays, pep boys, autozone, etc.), then just get some OEM style rotors with aggressive pads. When you chew them up, take them back for new ones :D
better braking on the street. that's easy bro.
don't waste your money on a big brake...you don't need it.
don't waste your money on new rotors...they only help in high heat racing conditions.
2 things: new pads and stainless steel brake lines.
i have the trd sport pads and am happy with them.
new pads bite hard and steel lines deliver all the pressure from your pedal to the pads.
don't go overboard with it buddy. spend $150 and a little time with your wrench and you'll be more than pleased.

Pad install was very easy.
1) unscrew top bolt of caliper and swing it down
2) pop pad assembly out
3) take out pad
4) replace with new pad
5) use a C-clamp to push your brake piston back in
6) pop pad assembly back in
7) swing caliper back into position and screw it in
Get in pump your brakes a few times to pop the pistons into place and do a few runs to 60mph then 0 to bed the pads.
It's easy and all good.

yes sir everyone has the right idea on here. Leave the rotors alone and get your self some upgraded pads. Also the SS brakelines are great to have also. :D Shoot IF there was one available I would recomend a double piston caliper, but some can dream.

ok, so has anyone bought a set of pads or ss brake lines they really like, or know where to get them? i heard that the axxis set didnt fit right on the rear(i'm pretty sure they said axxis). does hawk or anyone else make pads for the tc yet? oh-yeah-what makes ceramic pads better? do they not dust as much?

i've also seen these pbf axxis pads on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...978939023&rd=1
it says that the pads fit on the 01-04 celica and the tc. does that mean all celica pads for those years will fit on a tc? i've heard that the celica trd big brake kit fits on the tc as well.
