The axle back part is a bolt-on not like its hard or anything...
If i was going to take it to the track i'd remove the muffler and i'd suggest getting a turndown or straight pipe to get the hot gases away from the tank, like someone else said...

Like the other guy said most no name exhaust companies show better numbers on cars because they do a little more R&D than big name companies. All you pay for on that ___ ___ DC-Sports Axleback is the name stamped on the fart can. If you want real performance you need to research it and find what is best. I have searched long and hard to find the right exhaust for my car. Axlebacks are a worthless investment, because all they do is make sound and no power, since you still have 2 lo flow cats and one big ___ resonator. The new exhaust has a high flow cat no resonator and a Borla muffler, so I think it should add decent power.

read it again there Einstein.. he called me a dumbass, i was just quoting him.... i never lowered myself down to name calling.. thats childish, hence the "Kid" phrase....... And as far as APC... that is the crapiest of crap... you cant even be considered in my car club if you have a product from them.... to each there own but I will not buy a product that dosent even have a dyno out and been tested.... and especially pay 715 for it when some other guy payed almost 100 dollars less..... ive heard it and yes it sounds pretty good... and ____ the exhaust may even be pretty damn good but 715 dollars for it? STI owneres dont even pay that much for a cat back on a stock 300 hp car..... yea it sucks that there really isnt ____ out there for the TC but im not gonna jump on a performance mod made buy a new company that dosent have a reputation..... i guess you can say that i dont wanna be the ginnie pig and im a name brand guy thats why i do a ton of research everyday and get frustrated everyday cuz there isnt ____ in my eyes worth buyinf for the TC yet...... so hey good luck to him and his 715 dollar exhaust, i aint hating nor do i actually really give a ____.... but when you post on a forum you cant expect everybody to love your post, or be nice.... its a forum....

My car is probably the least ricey of any TC on this board just look at it in the gallery.
Thanks for the info... Actually, to my understanding that's one of the simplest and best performance mods you can do. Only, it's also illegal in most states, so most people are afraid to do it. Let us know how the new muffler works out, I'm thinking of replacing my axelback with something with less restriction...

Correction: APC makes great quality bulbs, and a few nice grilles. Only problem is, they're the Tommy Hilfiger of 'performance' manufacturers; they make a knockoff then slap their logo all over it.

Although, I agree, they do put out a lot of crap.

They will have dynos for that exhaust in the next week or so. I am sure it will add way more than that junk ___ Borla exhaust or TRD.

Geez! When did the tC section become the Ultimate Fighting Octogon?

I see more name calling and arguing on every post! Arguing about hp numbers, and mods, and racing stories, and brand names. You guys all need to relax!

To the original poster:
I've heard a few cars with no muffler, and some sound crappy, others sound good and deep. I'm glad to hear the tC sounds good. Let us know how your exhaust works out when it arrives.

I had to move my last car (01 GTI 1.8T) in the middle of an exhaust change. The only part off the car was the axle back. To me, the car sounded perfect. Ironically, the exhaust I ended up with was louder than I wanted. Go figure. Some folks are looking to buy axle back's, which do NOTHING other than make the car sound "sportier". Here is an alternative, for those willing to run without a muffler. Too many people are quick to jump on the "r*cer" bandwagon, and others are quick to be offended and name call. Now lets party like its 1999.
