Built NA / longevity factor

After talking to some local builders, my mind is getting swayed on the idea of a built allmotor tc,

They told me that even though the parts would be replaced with stainless/forged/ that they would only be good for 40- 50k miles before needing another rebuild..

Is this the case on high compression motors?

If you have been looking at my other thread "dry sump system"
I was also quoted 4500 for a dual pump setup from the same people.

instead of spending $4500 alone on a dry sump system, why dont you just boost the car and call it a day?

cost vs. effectiveness is garbage for N/A tCs

Its really tempting, to be honest I could just call up ptuning/dezod and get a small boost project underway but it would be refreshing to see something a little bit new done, regardless the car will be tracked, and tracked hard so the dry sump is something that would be on my list after refreshing the motor.

Ive lost one motor to the countless hours of tracking, I want to play it safe this time around.

But if highcompression motors dont have a reliable lifespan I guess it will be what turns me away.

i cant really answer your question there but i can say that building a N/A tC is a huge waste of money (imo)

Sure, its diff. but is it really worth that much money just to be diff? Meh.

all though i partially agree with you... i also very much disagree cory.

ive spent well under what people think they would spend and its really not THAT bad.

granted if you look at it mathematically cost VS power boost will always win but longevity is the only true variable. and thats often the case of build quality, tuning, and driving patterns.




to the OP... tell your local builders to suck muh fuzzy *****... they are scared!! NA tc's are rare builds that no one does hence all the little info thats truly out there on them..

as far as longevity my current motor has 70k miles since its last build and aside from just being an oil pig everything has been perfectly fine. never had i once had a problem and ive tracked HEAVILY, raced HEAVILY, and drive daily HEAVILY @ 70-90 mph on freeways for long periods of time to get to work. all main. @ 3k miles done and regular oil checks @ 1500 miles. NOT ONCE an engine failure or mis hap etc etc... ive gone through clutches faster then ive gone through engines... unless your doing some extremely high compression builds in the realm of 12 and up then if its done right i dont see why longevity will be an issue.

also high compression motors are everywhere... honda, nissan, toyota... and those manf. break 100k miles with out a problem.

i dont see why they are saying 40k-50k miles.... just sounds like enough time to say "yea we built it we we didnt build it to last" kinda BS IMO....

im trying to go boost now so what do i know lulz...

just a thought, power is an addictive drug and with all motor you are limited, however with boost you can always upgrade to the "next level"
