ive been trying to search it out but cant seem to find what im looking for. does anyone kno the difference between the 06 and the 07 intake, like what is different that makes one not fit the other

 

The mass air flow sensors are different sizes.

If I remember correctly, it is a lot different.

 

it sucks cuz i have only been able to find injen and fujita CAI's

 

K&N makes one that's supposed to get like 7.5 hp... but it's pretty much a stock airbox with the bottom cut off and a K&N filter added... along with some slightly different piping to the throttle body.

I think it actually makes more HP (they claim) than their CAI for the 05 and 06 model.

IMO, you'd be better off going with the Injen anyways... unless there's a specific brand you were hoping for?

 

somone told me that injen is poorly made and that i should go with AEM, but aem doenst have one for my car. has anyone else heard antying bad about injen?

 

Injen is very popular for the tC... so I think if something were really wrong with it, you'd have seen a thread or two by now.

i love the trd one best. also. don't pay attention to what their hp numbers say, there are so many possibilites for queering the numbers on that. just get a good quality cai from a reputible seller. not some cheap piece of crap off ebay. and drop in air filters do nothing.

i say get the trd intake, i love mine on my 05. sounds great, performs great, can be cai or sri, and has a bypass valve to prevent hydro locking. i know it is expensive, but it is extremely high quality.

 

Ya, they're not cheap, for sure. Though I think I've seen them under $250... so if you can find it for like $230, I'd say take it. I forget where, but I thought I remember seeing them somewhere for like $234 shipped. Don't remember though...

I have the Injen CAI with a TRD exhaust on my '06 and I love it. The looks, the sound, the throttle response....just amazing!
