Default Which CAI (CARB APPROVED)

Im buying an intake soon, but not sure what CAI's are available for the tC. So far i only know Injen and K&N. I dont want to get the K&N CAI, because its not CARB approved. Can any one tell me if the Injen CAI, is CARB approved? or if there are other CAI, available for the tC, that are approved by CARB. Thanx

Just be a bit patient and wait for the TRD CAI. I think it is CARB approved.

eventually, there will be one coming out. If you don't mind everytime you use your ___ to take out the CAI for smog check in CA, then you probably don't need to get the one with CARB sticker on it. So your patient is worth nothing! They must have their own reasons to take so long to get it CARB approved. Beside CAI doesn't go really fast, if you want performance, apperance and sound, get a supercharged!

how lazy can you be with removing your CAI and putting back the stock intake, i thought new cars in CA dont have to be resmogged for 5 years.

what about 5 years after? You still need to take out the intake for visual inspection unless it is CARB Approved. Are you sure you are living in CA? Or you are like some kind of illegal immigrant?

He's saying, "TAKE THEM OUT WHEN YOU GO SMOG LAZY ___"

Then again, you could also spend a ton of money on useless dealer add-ons and be "smart"

This is a message for dp-_-

Please read the entire post before you response the message and please stop thinking that you are smart or impressive and I want to vomit right now.

Beside, I didn't like to take out the not CARB approved intake out when there is a smog check. This is my personal preference and it's none of your business. You can do whatever you want but that's your problem. And also, I didn't get my TRD stuffs from the dealer and I got it from somewhere for very cheap price, AND if you did buy anything from dealer and I hate to say it but you are stupid.

Oh son, let the flame war & locking begin!

"If you don't mind everytime you use your butt to take out the CAI for smog check in CA, then you probably don't need to get the one with CARB sticker on it. "
--If you don't mind using your hands to take out the CAI for a smog check, then you probably won't need to get one with a CARB sticker on it.

Also, do you have opposable thumbs on your butt? That's talent.

"They must have their own reasons to take so long to get it CARB approved. Beside CAI doesn't go really fast, if you want performance, apperance and sound, get a supercharged!"
--They must have their own reasons for taking so long to approve parts for CARB (Not really, we're talking about the state here). Besides CAI's don't really make your car go that fast. If you want performance, appearance, and sound, get a supercharger.

"So your patient is worth nothing!"
--So your patience isn't worth anything!

"Or you are like some kind of illegal immigrant?"
--Sentences don't begin with "or"

Also, I did read the entire post, but because your English is "illegal immigrant" style, I suppose I misunderstood.

Is your English "stupid" OR are you sure that you're the one that's not some sort of illegal immigrant?

Wewt! This post is deleted and locked!

HAhahaha, way to correct his grammar mistakes dp. Also, I may be a Mexican ( VIVA MEXICO), but i have ALL my papers and a drivers license, plus i was born in the STATES. Hope that makes peterkam feel better, that there are no "illegal immigrants" driving, or at least any we know of.... muhehahaha.

By the way, the K&N Typhoon CAI for the 350Z is CARB legal and comes complete with CARB EO number. I assume that the K&N Typhoon for the Tc is also CARB legal with some CARB EO numbers.

Nope..there are no CARB legal l intakes for the tC at this time. The TRD will likely be legal, but the gains will so minimal that it wont be worth the ridiculous price the dealerships will charge for it. IT has to do with the charcoal filter insert.

And taking the intake out 1 time in 5 years for a smog check would take about 1 hour at the very longest. Seems worth it to me to have 5 years of increased performance and spend 1 hour to swap it out for a smog check.
