Camry engine vs tC's

got one question.. if the camry and the tc both have 2az and they both share the same specs.. and the camry has aheavier body than the tc.. why the hell does the camry 2az have better gas milleage than the tc.. and we share the gas milleage of a v6 camry/ solara... just observed it on the spec sheet on one dealership...

our manuel tranny is geared verry short when i drive my friends spec v that has a 6 speed his 5th gear at 70 mph is at lower rpms then my tc

I have a 2005 tC and my mom has a 2005 Camry.
Mine is a Manual while hers is an Auto.
This weekend her and my dad were visiting and I decided that I was going to take it for a spin on the bypass. Needless to say taking off from an onramp to get into traffic was totally different then in my tC. I do realize I drive a manual and her's is an auto, but hers just felt like it was struggling a lot more then my tC ever would.
Just my experience.
