Default Canister length

Hey guys,

I was wondering if a couple of you guys could get me a measurment of the canister on your aftermarket exhaust. I am looking for length measurements on the following:

Megan Racking Drift Spec
HKS Hi-power
Greddy Ti

I am just trying to find out how long the actual canister is (not including the tip or inlet pipe).

Basically, I have an old N1 style canister at the house from a Suby set up but am thinking it is going to be too long. Regardless of that, I am no curious how long the brands mentioned above are.

Post up a measurement if you can also note which model it is for.

Thanks in advance.

I understand the ones I listed actually fit our car. I have seen all of them in person at one time or another. I am leaning towards the MR simply due to cost but if that was not an issue I would just do the HKS. The downside is that the HKS cost the same for an axle back as the MR cat back.

What I was getting at is that I currently have a canister left over from my old Forester XT. I could simply cut it off and have some piping made for it. But the canister is pretty long and could result in the muffler sitting at a really drastic angle in comparison to how the N1's would come stock.

So, I am wondering how long the canisters are on the Greddy, HKS, and MR just for comparison purposes. If mine is a few inches longer, I will just go ahead and hold off and buy one of the above.

well if its really long like the MR one,you might have to do a slight angle,i personally think ill look better and more agressive then a straight exhaust,MR catback is angled due to the length of it, but looks good,HKS is smaller angles too but points down to the groound which i dont like and cost big $$$$...

if you can post some pics here to get a better idea on what it loks like that would be great

Basically it looks very similar to any of the 3 mentioned. It is a 5" canister with a 4" tip and is 15" long.

Personally, I do like the N1 style and the idea of that style is to minimize the bends in the piping to allow for a more direct flow of the exhaust air/gases. I am not against it pointing downward (the inlet side tipped down towards the front of the car with the actual muffler tip aimed up- as that is the original design style). I will just need to get under my car to get a better idea.

I am pretty sure that all 3 of the exhausts mentioned do not creat a straight line from the last bend to the muffler tip (which I am hoping for). From what I can see, they sort of have an "S" shape if you will. In that they come out from the axle flange, bend towards the passenger side of the car, go straight, then bend slightly back towards center and then hit the muffler. My goal will be to come right out of the flange, with one bend and then a straight pipe to the muffler, thus rendering my current canister too long or set at such a sever angle that it will look like crap.
