Get the code checked at autozone or a local parts store... most do it for free and tell us what it is... it's nothing to do with the exhaust, which is where the CEL eliminator is used.

With the code, we can tell you much more...

The CEL comes on when there is a code to display an error on the cars ECU... you, or a parts store can plug into the OBD-II port to read the code and know what the problem is... there could be literally 100 things that the CEL could light up for, the code tells us what is really making it light up...

im thinkin that the MAF sensor might be sensing too much air or something... it has to b something with the CAI since it was just installed and the CEL came on like 2 days after

It shouldn't have any problem with air or such... I ran the same intake for more than a year without an issue... I'd check the code, and also check to make sure the MAF sensor wires are clipped on securely as well.

Without knowing the code, it's a shot in the dark...

Disconnecting the battery resets the ECU and eliminates the code... I'd still get it checked for free prior anyways. if you reset it and it comes back... GET the code read.

I had the same problem with my Injen CAI, the only wierd thing is my CEL only started to come on after I got my car back from the body shop (I rear ended someone). The dealership service center said the codes said my engine was running to lean, and most likely because of the CAI. I started running premium (91 octane here in cali) and haven't had a check engine light since. I haven't had to reset my ECU in a long time either.

might sound weird, but have you gotten gas recently? My wife through a CEL and took it to the dealer and low and behold she hadnt tightened the gas cap properly and it through a CEL.

that happened to my sister a while ago when she barrowed my car. boy, was i heated, but good thing i found out what happened before i drove down to the dealer.

anyways, did you disconnect the battery when you installed the intake? if not, you should be set just by resetting the ECU.

Happened to me recently too. I have had an injen CAI installed for 3 or 4 months.
The car felt sluggish and I thought nothing of it. A half hour later I notice the CEL is on. I took the car home and ran my errands with my wifes truck, when I got back to the car and started it the RPM's were jumping from 3-500. Eventually it would stall. I tried EVERY method of resetting the ecu and nothing worked so I put the stock box back in and had it towed to the dealer. An hour later I had a new MAF sensor under warenty.
