Default Clutch Problem?

Hi! It's Gary again, I am always having problems with shifting when I bought my used 2007 TC with 23,xxx miles ODO. I already bought some mechanical books, some "Tuner" mags with some nice Asian ladies, and I bought Racing/Tuner Genre games like Need For Speed PROSTREET, Need For Speed Collection, Gran Turismo 4, and Midnight Club DUB edition for my PS2, and I also bought a Forza Motorsports2-(GREAT GAME WITH A TC!) for my XBOX 360, just so I could be more knowledgeable about cars and mechanical stuff.

I let my dad drive it the other day and he said something about my clutch slipping and said it was ____ty. I told him that it can't be, because it has such a low mileage, but is it possible that my clutch is broken already at such mileage and I don't even shift above 5,000 RPM?

What are my options? Should I go to Toyota and buy the standard clutch or, should I go with a better compound clutch like the ones on Need For Speed? Also, are my shifter bushings broken if they move too much? How can I fix this bubble gum-like feeling?

And while I'm at it, how can I make my Scion get 40+horsepower with only $1,000?

Well, the clutch being worn out has nothing to do with the mileage. It all depends on how the previous owner drove it. It might need a new one. I always say if you're going to drop the tranny, might as well put in a better clutch.

i hate to admit it but i let my buddy drive my car for a bit and he said he did a nasty burn out and my clutch was gone no pedal at all this was at 10 k

boy did he feel ____ty when he had to fork over 800 to have the dealer put in a new one!

mileage means nothing when it comes to a clutch. you can smoke it the first day you leave the dealer lot!

1) I suggest replacing the clutch with Stage 3 Clutchmasters.

2) For 1K$..... i dont know bro, CAI, and headers, and maybe an exhaust system (will sound awesome), and might give you a few more HP.

3) I keeep hearing this term "FTW"... what is that...

yep, clutches life span depend on how you treat it... i've been driving around with my clutch slipping into second... and sometimes third for about 10000 miles now and im up to 45000 miles on stock clutch...

just to let you know... don't teach your friends to drive your car UNLESS you're pretty confident he/she will get it fairly easy... i tried showing my friend for 2 straight days and he STILL can't drive stick... and i won't show him no more till he gets his own car because i noticed the slipping after the second day of teaching him to drive stick...

Thanks for the tips!

I'm going to Toyota tomorrow and try out a new tC and see what a new clutch feels like for the tC. I talked to my dad about the car and he told me that I have to find a better clutch for my car before I do other stuff with it, which long life clutches can I get for a bargain?

I also asked my dad about nitrous and turbo. He told me that the nitrous would make my engine blow easily because it could literally eat the combustion chamber due to the extreme oxygen content of the nitrous without some sort of new forged pistons and a programmable fuel delivery system. Are there such equipment for the Scion?

When I asked him with turbo, he told me that it would easily cost $7,000 when installed, he also told me that the tC axles can only take about 270 horsepower and 230 torques or else it could suddenly crack and break at high RPM. Is this true?

(While I'm here, Here's how I learned how to drive stick...)

I used to have an old 91 Eagle Talon GS-T I got for 750 cheap bucks from a neighbor moving to New Jersey, at first I can't even move the car, but after a week or 2, I'm already driving it to California, Utah, and Arizona. It has a sweet clutch, traction and is considerably fast.

Too bad the engine blew off... unexpectedly! I just heard a weird whine when I'm stopped at a light for 4 minutes and after a few more seconds, I heard a fast clanking noise and it was followed by a 2 pops and the engine was in smoke and caught fire, and all hell broke lose when it caught fire! Luckily, there was a fire truck that was just a few cars behind and saw my hood in flames, so they stopped the fire quick, but my car was done for and the engine and labor cost way way more than my car, so I had to dump it and find a new car, which is the blue tC I found cheap at a Latin used car lot.

nah a 75 shot of nitrous isnt going to merit forged pistons, and a wet kit will keep u from needing the fuel upgrade ive spent 570 on my kit and i have a fully automated perfectly safe kit for 75 hp

Great price for 75horses! What kit did you use? Also, can this take care of the "chug-chug" sound followed by a drop in RPM when you go up a grade when going 75MPH-top gear at the highway? Thanks. "How hard/much is the install?

The chugging noise only comes at top gear at any speed on hill climbs, but it doesn't have it at 4th gear. I don't have an idea on how to fix it, but I think it could be me using 91 octane pump gas and it says on the manual to use recommended 87 (research 91), I don't get what they mean by research 91?.

Any help on this would be nice. Should I change my spark plugs to Platinum?

no the tc requires iridium, you just choking the engine going up the hill, there isnt enough rpm when your going up the hill to keep the car alive in 5th so it is trying to stall, if it starts doing that just down shift and drive on, its a sign u need to be in a lower gear nothing wrong with the car.

Wow! Thanks a lot for the infos! Is this the kit you bought?

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...493+4294908400

Is this OK to still be installed and running when "just in case" I install a Turbo or Supercharger?

yeah thats the kit but thats way to much for it
http://www.speedtweekerz.com/
call up those guys (the 4cyl kit isnt listed yet but they have them) call the guys number and tell him Elliott Garrou told you about the kit it will be 319 free shipping you'll ave it in 2 days

yeah you can run nitrous with a turbo or s/c, but you'l want to run the smaller 35 hp shot probably and talk to the shop that does the turbo/sc install about fogger placement and jetting
