Default Clutch replacement

Is it necessary to replace the clutch when replacing the shortblock and/or trans? I'm sure it's a good idea, but want to know if it's a necessity. Thanks.

Huh? Of course not. But if you are already doing all that work, you'd be silly not to replace it, or at least resurface the flywheel, or replace the $5 throw out bearing... But "necessary"? No.

I didnt think so. Sometimes you need to hear it from someone else for re-assurance. Thanks!

Ah gotcha. Yeah, no reason whatsoever. If she's good, she's good. No reason to replace just because you opened 'er up.
