i am putting a new clutch in my 05 tc and hear there are a few problems with compition clutch clutches does anyone have any input on this and also does anyone kno how good zoom clutches are?

 

How much torque are you putting down?

 

I have a stage 4 clutch masters and I love it. I track my car often and drive very aggressively, and it holds fine

What about Centerforce? I have had their cluch in my off road truck and it took everything. I have not hear anything about them?

 

I had a CC Stg. 4 and really didn't like it. Mine didn't fail, although I only had it in the car for 12k miles or so. The throw-out bearing for it failed, that's for sure.

I recently replaced it with an ACT street clutch and although the pedal is a lot stiffer, the engagement is much more friendly for the street and it definitely feels solid. It supposedly holds up to 390ft/lbs. My goals are 300-ish and I never launch the car so I feel it will be adequate. It's also one of the cheaper clutches so I'd recommend it so far...

 

I have a centerforce in my car ever since 22K and now I have 64K with several weekends spent at the dragstrip and I was putting down 309hp and 319tq on a mustang dyno. From what I am told its comparable to a stage II clutch but it held for me without issues.

I was weary of competition clutch so i got an ACT.

 

Guess it's hit or miss with Competition clutches. My Stage 5 has no problems whatsoever.

 

That was why I just decided to stay away. I didn't want to be the miss.

 

its mostly a problem with the stg2 and 4 clutches going caca and the throw out bearings...
