yeah, I got the BOmz one to hold me over till i ended up picking up a Injen used. But I have gotten lucky with the BOmz i guess. I haven't thrown a CEL yet and had it on for almost a year. "knocks on wood" lol

Continue the good trend, I'm just the type of person who will go the extra mile and spend a little more $ for the name brand part. Added security for me knowing a reputable company, like TRD knows what they are doing and has designed the part around the car,
for the car. To each his own I guess! The talk of no name/ name brand parts is a controversial topic that can and will go on forever.

Is there any way that I can change the size of the tube that connects to the throttle body? So the CEL goes away? like change it to a 2.5" diameter.
Or can i do this in this pic. My friend's Mustang was the same thing so he put this. I was wondering if I could do the same.

Best bet is to buy an intake that was designed for the tC, then these problems with end. If you decide on going with a sensor housing, depending on you current pipe size, you will need a flange welded on your intake pipe and the proper gasket. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but welding cheap thin aluminum alloy is fun to.... good luck with that.

Hi, I did Search for the cause for this and i found some stuff and did that but the CEL light came back on.
I have an 08 manual tC. I bought a BOmz racing CAI and put it on this past weekend. while i was putting it on I took the ecu fuse out because i had read that this is needed to be done to let the ECU "learn" that the CAI is there. I get it all put back together and drive around for the weekend (probably 2 hrs total) with no problem, but yesterday on my way to school the CEL came on so i took the ecu fuse back out again to let it reset, kept it out all day and when i put it back in the light was still on. Once I got home i unhooked the battery for about 45 mins, once hooked back up the light was off. drove it last night (30 mins or so) and to school this morning with no problems at all. well on my way back home just a few minutes ago the light comes back on.
I have checked everything that I touched while i had it apart. I'm wondering if anyone knows what i need to try next or if i need to just take it to the dealer (still under warranty)?

FIX / SOLUTION!!
So I know this is an old thread..but i've been having the same issue with my 2007 Scion tC. AND I found a cheap fix. Those of you who mentioned the intake needs to be a 2.5 inch pipe versus the 2.75 inch pipe are right. I bought a set up online that was 2.75 inches and my Scion was throwing a few CEL codes. So.. I went to Home Depot and bought a .25 inch thick rubber connector (used for irrigation pipes. It was 3 inches in diameter, but .25 inches thick). I cut a portion of it out and put it inside my cold air pipe right around the MAF sensor. Basically I it made that portion of the pipe 2.5 inches in diameter. I put it all together and it runs great an NO Check Engine Light or Codes!! hope this makes sense and that it will help others out. Sounds cheap but it works, stays in place, and I saved a lot of money with the same effect as a $250 intake.
