Default competition clutch stage four install

Hey y'all. Just going to bed at 330 after about 20 hours of wrenching on the car. I'll eventually get pictures and a good write up done here but wanted to post some advice. Unless you have multiple helpers and mechanical experience involving dropping the motor, don't do this if its your only mode of transportation lol. Goodnight!

There's already a write up for clutch and flywheel install. Dropping the motor definitely is not necessary on the 1st Gen tC to do a clutch install. Took me 7 hours tops to do the remove and install with my car jacked up on the floor.

Thanks for calling me stupid. Not sure why you assumed I dropped the motor. You should have came over if you think you could have done it any faster. ;)

Rear mount press bolts were stripped by the shop that replaced the motor. I had to weld the head of the bolts to the mount and ground them off once they were out. Also snapped a bolt in the bell housing. If this was newer and didnt have 6 winters on it, it would have been much smoother. We bolted everything up with no problems once we got past the issues. As you can see, the turbo F'ed up that stock clutch. 5k on the clutch and she was friiiiiied.

Lol, I don't see how in any way my post stated you were stupid. And I assumed you dropped the motor cause of your statement "Unless you have multiple helpers and mechanical experience involving dropping the motor, don't do this if its your only mode of transportation lol." Sucks you had to go through all that, though, I guess I got lucky with everything since my car has been through multiple winters since 2006. Good luck with your build.

That looks like my mistake then. I was tired as F when I posted that. I meant trans. But if you can remove the motor im sure you could do the trans. Do you guys use sand or salt in NY? Good ole Michigan salts the crap out of everything. Also just found out that the radiator is cracked and leaking all over the filter. Replaced the drain plug up top and its still leaking from the top inlet tube. I rinsed the filter and solid orange rinsed out for a good two minutes... apparently I am just having all sorts of problems lol.

Most of the time we use a mixture of sand-salt. Must be frustrating running into one problem after another, at least in the end you'll know that mostly everything is brand new, haha. I've had my fair share of problems but not like yours, whereas I had to remove and install my transmission 3 times in a year because of a defective throwout bearing, and 2 defective clutches due to the springs popping out. Good luck with everything.

I was just telling my buddy that when we do the struts itll be a cake walk! haha. This car has so many new parts its not worth getting anything else for a few years. Only thing I think I may have to do is rebuild the motor probably next winter. She is sitting at 10 inches vacuum but it idles just fine and dosnt burn oil so I am hoping that it is just a bad vac source.
