in consistent idleling....
i got weapon R short-ram in a 05 tc and every now again, more random but mainly right as i drive off or when i have been driving for a while, when i put it in nuetral the car idles inconsistently like if it jumps up and and down from 2000 down to 600 and then back up to 2000 and so on for a little while then idle out ok. only thing i can think of is maybe my idle control valve maybe going bad or i dunno. doesnt happen often but does happen anybody else experience this too?
...Sounds to me like your MAF sensor might be freaking out.
My experience with short snorkels and ram airs in conjunction with a MAF sensor is that they can be a little rough on cold startup, but once they warm up, they're fine. My xB with a Fujita Short-Ram is a little rough every now and again, but only on startup when there has been a decent change in outside temps. Once the car warms up, it's fine.
Something to think about... When was the last time you cleaned and oiled the filter? If it's been a while, you might want to give it a good wash and oil.

you could also try resetting the ecu and letting it learn a new idle. disconnect the battery for a bit or pull the ECU fuse and then put it all back together and let the car idle for several minutes, then drive normally.
if that dont work you could try a clean filter
be careful about letting the filter dry a long time otherwise you'll really be killing the MAF.
i'd recomend buying a new one and replaceing it and then cleaning the old one and let it chill in the new box till you need to switch out again, then repeat.
i had a short ram for a while and never had issues with crazy idling though...
