It's gear oil, fast superior to the stuff that comes stock. It makes the gear shifting much smoother and keeps the tranny in much better shape. It eliminates all grinding (or at least most of it). This is of course for a manual transmission

the whole intereior...back seats, passenger seats, spare tire...the car really does scoot after takeing that all out...i've done it....but man it gets loud, you can hear the gas slushing around in the tank

Yep, very noisy. But remember that for every 17 to 25(*more or less) pounds taken off the car, 1hp is freed because of weight reduction. The power to weight ratio is roughly depending on your cars weight with you, gas, and other fluids such as water in the washer fluid reserve.
