Default Do all headers sound raspy for the tC?

I was thinking about getting a header but after listening to any videos I could find of people with headers, I didn't hear any that sounded good. Does anyone have a setup that does not sound raspy, if so do you have a sound clip or vid I can watch?

aftermarket headers will always sound raspy unless you put alot of resonators on it. Some sound worse than others though but let me give u the rundown on which headers are the best. Depending if you want mid range power or high range power differs from the 4-1 (high range) and 4-2-1 (mid range) for the high range the best is alphawerk headers and actually theres one onsale right now. two actaully. and for the 4-2-1 the best is MMW headers or weaopon r. same company. gl man

mine has no rasp, "but" i went thru buying 3 differant brand resonators, and the only one that works 100% is hushpower. i've got c.a.i, header, downpipe, mid pipes and exhuast. anyone is welcomed to hear it if your in s.d. county and plan on a new resonator.

Just a quick note on the 4-1 alphawerks header. They are discontinued and have been i think since about 2007. They were tested out to be the best 4-1 header. The MMW/ Weapon-r 4-2-1 header is a popular choice on here as it is more for mid range which is more usuable in my opinion for a N/A tc. The Tsudo 4-2-1 is a copy of the MMW/Weapon-r header. It was taken off the market due to copyright stuff i believe. There are ones still floating around as all parts tend to every so often. I have the tsudo copy but havent installed it yet. My friend has the weapon-r and loves it. Tsudo is coming out with a new 4-2-1 header last i heard but there own design this time i would hope. All in all there are plenty of threads like this. The search button can be useful so you dont have people giving you crap plus it is in the rules to join which most people probably dont read I am assuming. But try a few searches with the words in different orders it can be tricky. But i suggest alot of reading before posting unless its a dire need question. I sat around and read posts for 3 months before i posted when i joined in 2007. It helped out alot.

I have the Alphawerks 4-1 header and I have 2 resonators on it and it still has some high rpm rasp, above 4500 or so, with hard acceleration. If I keep the acceleration normal it does have a nice tone, but needs some work...

Sometimes you need to sacrifice sound for performance.

Once you add the resonator it makes a world of a difference. I had on my tC the DC Sports 4-2-1 Header. I am selling it for $150 or best offer if your interested. I installed a turbo so have no use for it right now. But at my work we sell the Magnaflow Resonator for about $70 bucks. This is the same one I installed and it definitely quieted it down a whole bunch. Before it sounded like a 03 Civic with a fart can on it. After it sounded like a nice deep rich tone to it. It was well worth it in my opinion. If your interested PM me and ill work out a good deal for you. Heres some pics of what I had.

Never sacrafice sound for performance.. that is what makes you the laughing stock.. Buy the resonator and install it with the header, then your golden... otherwise, forget the header completely...

Running DC Sports header, OEM s-pipe and midpipe, and Megan OE axleback. Without a cat in line it's raspy as all hell, but with the stock midpipe I don't get much rasp except at the very high end.
