ALRIGHT EVERYONE!!!!! I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH TRD and asked about the Intake for our Baby's and they said the Intake ISNT HIGHWAY usable so its illegal to have and when its gona be time for emsission testing it wont pass. Also voids the warranty of ur ride. BUT they are working on a Highway use Intake est time 2months or so! NOT worth to buy now WAIT FOR other one! and 7horses is ur gain. And Current pricing Is $440 w/o install.

the reason that its not CARB certified is that it doesnt replace that damn special filter film thing on the top side of our airboxes.

apparently, one of my uncle's good friends works with toyota and specifically TRD. he's done most of his work on the superchargers, but knows some about the intake. it was not available for a long time because of the debate about that filter. it just didnt see enough of a power gain with the filter in place and so after a long delay they just released it without the filter and a warm "good luck" to those of us in CA. i havent heard of them releasing a CARB legal one though.

Do you seriously doubt that it's available? I've seen it installed on a customers car, a super white tC. He's had it for like a month now.

I wonder why they have it placed over a TRD spring box? I've installed a few sets of TRD springs on various Toyotas and that's the box they come in....either white or orange. It says "Performance Suspension" at the top and they simply covered up the word "Suspension". Some of the other wording toward the bottom says "Lower Stance", "Superior Ride Quality" and "Better Handling". You can almost see some of it.

If it's the real thing, where's the Box it came in?

Interseting.....oh well.

3) No one who has the intake hangs out on these boards.

4) They find it amusing that people don't believe its available.

O.K., let's put this debate to sleep. Check my profile. The one pic is a customer/friends tC with the TRD intake (thanks Rob). I have 3 other pics I can e-mail you if you want to see more.

He definitely likes the intake. Great looks, sound, and the butt dyno tells him there's more power. Plus it allows him to keep a TRD theme with his car (notice the strut brace). He does not drive the car in snow, so it has not seen a lot of action yet.
