everything was going fine but i could not get the cap that holds the actual shifter in place you kno it has the two clips even my dad tried lol so i gave up and put the thing back together. ill try again tomarow i really want this thing in. any suggestions?

two prying tools and it pops right off

 

are you talking about the two black clips that hold the cable to the shifter frame? If so you need to twist them then pull up, its a PITA. I would twist with my fingers then hold it with a flat head, then continue to twist.

oh man that was the easy part for my, i just pounded a flat in there and pried it

 

so its just a matter of prying that crap off,

 

yep. Use two prying tools to make it as easy as possible.

 

well i took another try at it and i was successful this time around .
