they are both very similar exhaust. I would recommend borla however because it is engineered a bit better for performance. you will see better numbers

I have TRD and have never personally never heard borla on a tC in person, but the TRD sounds nice but its just not that loud. Also if you plan to get headers as I have now, the TRD sucks. So you would either have to deal with horrid rasp or sell it as i am now. I vote Borla

The rasp is gonna come on ANY exhaust system. Not just TRD. Compensate with any of these setups....

30 inch resonator
22 inch resonator + High flo cat
two 14 inch resonators

any of those you are guaranteed to get rid of rasp

trd is borla. borla manufactures the exhaust, trd slaps their name on it.

this is true but I was under the impression that rasp is the worst with the TRD and is the hardest to get rid of

everyone says there the same but there not, there close. If you look from behind the car you can clearly see the trd muffler its where as the borla is tucked up under the car. I have the borla and love it..its not loud but i wasnt looking for something loud for my 4 banger just a nice lil growl and thats what the borla does. Plus turning 3k+ at highway speeds i didnt want any interior noise to drive me crazy on the daily commute.

TRD exhaust is not made by Borla. It clearly has "WALKER" carved into the rear of the canister.

I agree its made by them but its not the exact same, they are configured differantly. From what i can tell its how they mount..the Borla tucks up under the car so its not visable from the rear unlike the trd.
