ENEOS Gear Oil Question (Manaul Transmission)
Hi everyone, was looking for a thread solely talking about this brand of gear oil for a tC manual transmission as I have seen with the Redline MT-90 brand.
Now I know Mobile 1 and Royal Purple for GEAR OIL have not been the most popular because I hear naughty things about it and not in a good way.
Anyone who has had experience with ENEOS Gear Oil GL-5 75W90 how do you like it comparing to the oem oil that first comes with the car?
If you have used other aftermarket gear oils such as Redline MT-90 and ENEOS Gear Oil GL-5 75W90 which do you prefer more and why?
I want to swap out my gear oil for a synthetic gear oil because of all the nice things I hear about synthetics. I sadly find myself pushing my car more than I should so this is why I mainly want to make the switch to synthetics.
One other thing I would like to add is that ENEOS is GL-5 and even though my owners manual says the transmission can accept GL-5, I want to know if that kind of viscosity will be safe during the long run for my transmission.
Thanks for taking your time in reading this and hopefully replying to this thread with your past experiences. Just a reminder I am a noob on gear oils and I am picky in what I put in my car. Take care everyone.
Oh and I forgot to mention I do not have a LSD in my car at the moment, so in the long future if I ever do install it that is going to be another topic to worry about.

I am most likely going to use ENEOS then. But I read up on Motul 300 being good aswell but everywhere I read into it it seems it is specifically designed for "racing" and my tC is only a DD. I do enjoy taking advantage of a manual transmission though, even though nothing has been done to my transmission.
Thanks for the inputs guys!

You will find people talking about Redline (alot), Royal Purple, Mobil 1 and ENEOS does come up in topic. If you have a lot of spare time on your hands check that thread up. I remember questions sounding similar to yours were asked. [If not sorry in advance for making you read 23 pages lol]
I hope this helps man, take care.
I just put in Eneos gear fluid. People said it would be a night and day difference.
I have not noticed one single difference. Maybe because it only helps in cold temps and its summer. I dunno. Maybe its like synthetic oil and its simply peace of mind. Either way, I'm glad I have the good stuff I just wish I could tell it.

Royal Purple has worked very well for me. I run RP in my 68 Mustang, 05 Accord A/T and my 08 BMW. I have used RP for about ten years now. I have never had any problems whatsoever with RP. I recently purchased a Tc and I am thinking of putting either Eneos or RP, I am not sure which yet. I really like RP but I am willing to see how the Eneos synthetic performs. I know that many people have had bad experiences with syn oils in honda auto trans but I have not. (I forgot to mention that I purchased all my cars new with the exception of the stang. I did break in the motors w conventional oil for the first two oils changes, then I swithced to synthetic oil.)
i have redline fluid in mine, its been in there for a while now, been too lazy to change it lol. but now that my CC clutch blew again, i'll be putting the ENEOS fluid in that i've had sitting in my room for about 3-4months now
Anyways best of luck with your clutch as well dave!
My first one I thought was ok so I got a second but then that one blew in a week and they upgraded me to the next stage for free so I took it. Now I've been having problems with all three I'll never go back. So I picked up the exedy oem replacement clutch
Ouch Dave that must of been rough, hopefully the Exedy will be far more reliable.
tcday, I also ended up buying the ENEOS 75w-90 gear oil not to long ago. I am awaiting that in the mail as well. I am excited to see how everything turns out.

Yes actually. It was free shipping and with some combined orders (ENEOS synthetic motor oil 5w-20). I had no reason not to.
But I did check my local auto stores for that brand of oil and I could not find it. Did you also buy your ENEOS from Amazon?
I hope I made the right choice with motor oil, I am almost positive I did. I will be using this with the toyota oil filter (not TRD).
Again if there is anyone out there that uses ENEOS gear oil give some feedback on how you like it. Much appreciated!

Im starting to think the whole gear oil thing is more personal pref than anything. I had to change the clutch at the end of last week, didnt have time to order in Eneos again (what I had been using), so I picked up Royal Purple from the local Oreilleys. I actually think the RP is smoother and the overall feel when shifting is better. Some of this could have to do with the clutch issue being fixed, as the old sprung clutch had multiple springs go on an adventure causing it to have problems disengaging for some time now, but I dont think it shifted this smoothly even when I first put it all together with Eneos
