Ok, so lately the tC's engine has been acting wierd. Like when you get to high RPMs it doesn't go into the next gear (I have an auto), the needle just bounces and the engine sounds like its its redlining. Which I know its not. And its also starting to scare me. so I'm asking, does anyone know what's wrong or need me to clarify it some more?

 

Yes, clarify.

Are you gently giving it gas or are you mashing it?

Are you sure you're in "D" (and not "3" - they're next to one another)?

Put on new mods lately?

gently pressing. Yes, I'm sure its in D. And no, the engine is stock except for the AEM battery tie down. And I don't think itd be the rev limiter because it'll like only be on 4-5,000.

 

try putting it into reverse on the freeway to break it in

 

dont do that .. some people dont know better and would try this..

i have a 5 speed and so does my girlfriend. we have seen a similiar issue, both once in our cars. we were in 3rd getting onto the highway at high rpms, switched to 4th revved with no acceleration, switched to 5th and once again revved with no acceleration. the car was in gear fully also. doesnt make since because our clutch is mechanical.

 

Sounds like it could be a bad tranny almost.

 

^^Agreed - does sound like a transmission problem.

If you're not getting a "check engine" light or another symptom you haven't mentioned, best advice at this point is to take it into the dealer for warranty repair.

 

But check ATF level first! just to be sure ...

 

Oh sorry, no check engine lights or anything have came on. So probably a bad transmission? Uh oh. It was broken in almost 2 yrs ago! thanks for the help everyone!!!

Well if he's been driving the car for over 2 years, he ofcourse will know the difference between normal and abnormal. I wouldn't sweat it if I were you. You have a warranty and this is obviously not your fault so just take it to the dealer and let them worry about it. As for your loaner car ask for an 07 v6 camry
