Exclamation engine in cold winter!!

so it was a pretty bad idea to do this in the first place but i had no other choice and no where else to put my car for the winter but in my parents yard, and havent been able to get to it for the past week and a half becasue it is plowed in, no damage ,but the temps have been in the negatives and im scared of antifreeze some how freezing and the engine getting ruined. what should i do? should i wait for spring and just let it sit or try to start it up? any help would be great thanks!

Meh, you'll be ok, but i would suggest, first chance you get at making ur way to the car. Just turn it on and let it run. IF you don't wanna do that. disconnect the battery, and throw some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank.

Cars these days are designed to be able to run well into negative temps. I believe the coolant can even be stable at something like -50 or more. They have tC's in Alaska, and it gets far colder there then where you are, you are fine. Stop worrying.

i agree with everything else here, but one more point is... if there is snow on top of your car, get it off of there. I've seen all these snow pictures around the country and people just leaving 6-12 inches sitting on top of their car? that's a lot of weight! and on our glass roof? not a good idea.

but if it's clear, then never mind what i said

I wouldn't listen to those friends if their saying a car sitting in the cold will break it. The only thing a car being in the cold will do will take a bit longer to turn over, especially when you get to -10 or more. But thats normal. I also wouldn't worry about the snow on top, that glass is stronger then you think.
