engine swaps for the tc are expensive and complicated and thus have not been done on the tc because simply turbocharging it yields much better results for way less money and headaches.

try www.dezod.com or www.turbotoyotas.com for a turbo kit.

it'd be pretty pointless because those motor's would put out about the same HP as a turbo tC and not to mention all the work that would go into making the motor fit. for the money just boost the tC, its plenty fast if tuned right.

plus the 3SGT-E motor's all come out of AWD or Mid-engine car's, so it'd be a shame to put it in a FWD car.

plus its an old motor... yeah it might be reliable.... but your 06 2AZ motor is more reliable than a 10-13 year old motor...

turbo ftw, you can do a swap as long as you do it right and willing a big amount of money.. but remember the tc is a heavier car, a smaller displacement might not be a good idea.. or you can just build your motor and slap a turbo kit

Y eah the money not the problem. Just something differnt but who said the motor is not reliable? This engines are pretty solid like the 4age in my corolla thats 20+ years old and has about 230k on it. I can get a 4th gen 3sgt-e making around 260 hp now adding normal mods to it can hit well over 300 hp.

i never said it wasnt reliable.... i just said that your current motor is just a little more reliable... and it'd probably cost you 10k to get the motor and make it fit right... trust me spend 5-7k on a solid turbo kit and come talk to me about it....

If you're going to do a swap, don't go from one ____ty 4-banger to another ____ty 4-banger. You'll spend $15,000 for ~300WHP. If you're going to do a swap, throw a Procharged 350 in there. The measurements have already been done and it would fit.

You can easily make a 2AZ-FE look that way. Just get a rattle can and start spraying. Point is, you'll gain nothing out of the swap, other than having another Toyota 4-banger under the hood.

You will need to take measurements to see if it will fit, I will say now, I am not up on my Toyota motors. But if it is an AWD or mid-engine then you are going to have issues with the transmission and drive shafts. (But I thought the celica was FWD)

I think there is something to the boost route, but then you run into the tC's transmission. Which one member tried swapping out to and XRS 6 Speed, but then he crashed his tC and I think the project was scrapped.

The link is here if you care: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...nsmission+swap

But I say if you have the cash go for it. You will get a lot of replies that it is a waste of time and all, but don't let that discourage you.
