dont put another 4cylinder engine thats boring...go for the v6.

the 2gr would be sick and then you could even turbo it for more ridiculousness.

i vote for that.

v6 is too heavy, the tC is fat already

Also, I'll be doing some things to lighten up the tC.

A super super built 2AZ motor doesn't entice you much? I think that would be the easier way to go. It would keep the car still sell-able if you ever do go to a different platform.

in that case just try and find an FC or an FD rx7 that's a shell or doesn't run or something and go that route! lol I personally think FC/FD's look way better than the rx8 to..buuuttt to each his own..anyway g/l with whatever you choose..

Ok seriously here folks, no one has mentioned the two best possible options. Option A is to import a J-spec 4th gen (out of a ST215 Caldina or ST205 Celica GT4) 3sgte engine. We are talking about a 2.0 toyota engine that comes with a turbo and over 260hp stock. I imported one from Hong Kong a couple of years ago and put it in my 94 Celica GT (It actually bolted directly to the two-wheel drive 5sfe transmission.) Let me tell you that thing was a BEAST! You can get over 400hp out of it without too much effort or coin. Anyways, thats your FWD option.

Your RWD option is something that I think every one of us has wanted to see for a long long time. Scoop up a 2jz-gte engine out of a late 90's Supra and shoehorn that bad-boy in there. The sky's the limit on the hp, that engine is bullet-proof. You can crank over a 1000hp if you've got the fund$, and plus it would avoid the bastardization of putting a 350 in.

Anyways, that's my two-cents, good luck with your build.

I've seen two FC's at the 1/4mile run in the 11s from only having a small block 350ci (350hp) crate engine put in. Yes, only mod. Cars looked like poo though.

Although that one is interesting, I was looking for something a bit more unique.

1) 2GR-FE
The 2GR-FE is a bad **** motor. Just gut a new camry with its drive train and put it in. I guarantee the Camry is fatter than our cars, and I have been spanked by one. Heck they run it in the X-runner. It has got a lot of potential.

Ok fella's! Please make sure we keep this on topic and please give serious feedback about engine swaps and engines. The OP seems very interested in this and he is asking for help not any smartbutt comments. Serious feedback and dont just go throwing random engines out there unless you got info to back it up. He posted a few engines so stick to those unless you have a very viable alternative with some helpful tips. Thanks.
