Default Engine and Trans Rebuild...

Hey guys I have a 06 tC with 166,000 miles on it. I am starting to notice somewhat of a power loss in the car. So I think....if anything its very minimal from when I first bought the car with 32,250 miles on it. So my question is instead of me buying a new car, how much do you think it would cost me to have the engine rebuilt and the gear synchros in the tranny? Now obviously for the engine I would want performance pistons, rods, cams, all that ish, as well as a port and polished head. I'd probably also add on headers, and a new exaust, pretty much id be doing everything possible to get the most of out the engine via N/A. Would you guys say id be pushing way over $10,000 for something like this, or could I do all of this for $10,000 or less?? Now the reason for me asking this is that for some reason I dont ever want to get rid of this car. Ive fell in love with it, so instead of me trading it for another car, and getting no money for it I feel like I should keep it and make it better than when I got it. Anyone have any idea how much it might cost? Thanks

if youve got 10k or less to spend and want a little power, do a mild build, mainly rods and pistons, new bearings, head gasket and new head studs, then buy an off shelf turbo kit, like ptuning, dezod, or world racing

youll be pushing 300+ hp on a super realiable setup (comes down to the tuner) and you should still be under 10k

have you looked into dezods pnp heads and blocks, i think ptuning sells built motors that way save yourself some money than buying it all piece by piece.

thats a lot of miles for an 06. Are you sure there is a power loss or is it all in your head. It would suck to spend that much money on a nonexisting issue. put it on a dyno

Hey it def is a possibility that its all in my head, but I might be coming up on some cash soon, and I know these are things that Ive been wanting to do to the car. 80% of those miles are all highway miles, so yea it might just be in my head...

Its all in your head lol.....I have an 05 with 140K miles with the TRD tune and no S/C and its running great, makes me wonder thou how long before something major needs to be done to the motor, I may have to change my tranny soon, I have a bad 3rd gear synchro, other then that its running just fine, i do have the usual wear and tear thou, need to replace the axles, front end links, my steering feels a little loose and need to replace all fluids too.

Yea I def know for sure ill probably need to swap the tranny. And it does seem to be a gear synchro problem as well...I know it s not the clutch or flywheel before I just changed both about 30,000 miles ago. I also do know ill have to replace the shocks and struts and maybe even the front control arms. If I were to replace the shocks I don't think I would go with anything super expensive but I would want an upgrade. That's something that I have always done when replacing parts on the car is I've always tried to replace them with better ones and not the same ones. Do u guys have any good ideas as far as what would be a good option? I wanna maybe go with the trd setup. I've talked to some people who own the rs5 and they said it made a noticeable difference
