i'm getting a horrible rattle and squeak or something from my catback. the thing is rubbing up on the heat shield i think. has anyone taken off the heat shield? would it effect anything negatively? i can't figure out if i should take off the heat shield, or just wrap the shield with something like header wrap. the rattle and squeak are making me not want to drive the car-that's how annoying it is. it's friggin killing me to hear my car like this.

Why not move the catback so it doesn't hit it, or have the shop that did it move it around a bit to ensure that it doesn't rub...
You can move if yourself pretty well..

we tried to move the catback, but it's still gotta hang on the hinges, and the high flow cat is still gonna be right below the heat shield. that's where the problem is.
I recently installed a greddy evo 2 axle back exhaust, and my stock piping started to sag after a couple of weeks. the piping is now hitting the 8" bracket/brace and is making a rattling sound. please AIM if you have the same problem or a fix to this problem. AIM: ibpoppin I have digital pics if you would like to see.
