Default exhaust plans

Hey their, ive been debating for a while which way to go with my exhaust plans and would love some feedback to help me finalize my decision. My two option where to either get some headers (proll MMW) an s-pipe, mid-pipe wit some resonators and magnaflow all the way back. My other option is to go to an exhaust shop after i order my headers and run custom piping all the way back at 2.5" and custom mandrel bending with again a magnaflow tip. My plans are to eventually go supercharger but i want a nicer growl to it now without any rasp, and a small power spike, even though unlikely, would be great. Any suggestions?

Replacing your stock baffled/chambered muffler with any aftermarket straight-through muffler will give you a 5-6 whp bump and a deeper sound. If you decide to go with any Magnaflow products, browse their main web site ... but buy it from this site (great price + free ground shipping):

If you want a nice deep growl without rasp, I would suggest going without the headers. If you want the header you'll need huge resonators to kill the rasp...

So does that mean custom piping or the catback magnaflow offers?

go with the mmw header/s pipe, then i'd go the custom route. especially since your going SC. Get the custom 2.5 all the way back, and tell them to slap on one resonator on the mid pipe and you'd be perfect

so i got to make sure the s-pipe is 2.5 to right? Ye my plans were to stick in a big ole 30" resonator in the mid pipe so i guess that the way im going

yeah if you take it to a shop they can make you almost anything. Id just tell them to make you a 2.5 inch s pipe and full exhaust with a resonator on the mid pipe. Dont think you'll need one as big as 30'' though.

2.5 sounds good, if you want to kill most of the rasp, I would do a 30"...

I heard the MMW are pretty good and not rasping to nasty, specifically at lower rpms so thats koo, but i think im still gonna go wit a 30" cuz it cant hurt right? lol

yeah thats true i guess. I'd install everything first then see how it sounds and decide. Cause like you said, the mmw isnt too raspy and i feel a 30 inch will muffle the sound too much so install it and see what you need thats what i would do at least

Rethinking it, headers and exhaust all 2gether will proll put me up around 1k and even tho i can afford it i dont wanna be in the red zone, so ima do the exhaust first and then put the headers on

That's what I did, and after hearing how good it sounded for a 4banger, decided not to get headers...

yeah header isnt worth it. basically same size piping just removes cat and makes your car annoying to hear lol

x2.

after having a 2nd gen RX7 with full racing beat headers and corksport straight pipe to a canister, i'm never going the header route =P its also not worth the CEL headaches for my daily driver.
