Default exhaust question

I have the dc 4-1 ceramic header which I'm pretty sure takes replaces the stock header with the catalytic converter. I would like to know where i could put the catalytic converter since i have the dc header and the magnaflow race series muffler(i'm pretty sure the muffler doesn't come with the catalytic converter). Help Please

you have a secondary cat on the midpipe, which comes right after the s-pipe so your half covered hhaa.

and both the magnaflow and the dc do not get rid of the secondary cat.

and if you got a header why would you want to add a cat, the only reason the a header does anything on the tC is due to the fact that it eliminates the first/primary cat.

If I wish to get rid of the second cat, could I replace the mid section pipe and s-pipe all together from an aftermarket company such as Megan.

So I am half covered? Does that mean i need a primary cat? I don't want to break any laws here in hawaii...

Once you replace your oem header with an aftermarket header, you eliminated the first cat on your tc. It might throw a CEL, but nothing a O2 sensor won't fix.

of course you can.. what i did before i had a header was just get piping put in place of hte cat(Test pipe)

also, you dont have to replace the s-pipe because that doesnt contain any cats or anything.. just piping, you should upgrade it.

also.. be nice, keep at least one of your cats, no one driving around you wants to smell you

your gonna be okay.. but you will get a CEL. to fix it, all you are gonna need is a anti-fouler, which may or may not work, its hit or miss.

im not sure, depends on your local laws.

in california you would be breaking a law that comes with a very high fine.. like very very high, more than 1k if hte cop wants to be an @$$.

and you can just add a cat to make up for what you took off, your not allowed to remove or replace your cats for 8 years unless they have malfunctioned, or broke.(in cali)

lol i'm lost too. when you said "and you can just add a cat to make up for what you took off, your not allowed to remove or replace your cats for 8 years unless they have malfunctioned, or broke.(in cali)"

does that mean i cannot replace my cat back so i can't use my header? which makes it illegal?

yes.. its illegal to have headers i assume in hawaii.

so no matter what you do to replace the cat that was on hte header it is ILLEGAL.

its okay to have headers here in cali too.. it depends on which car.

alot of cars dont have catalytic converters on their header, unfortuntately the tC does, so as far as california is concerned, the header is illegal.
