Default Factory option TRD LSD

Im ordering me another tC. This time around I wanna be able to hook up better(turbo tC equals poor traction), soI was wondering who here has the TRD lsd from the factory. How, much better does the lsd aid in gaining traction(mainly looking for boosted opinions). And, which type of lsd is it. I know there are few types of differntials that do different things.

Its a factory option.. Which I will be adding to my car. Its an extra $1300. But, it beats buying it later and then paying an addition $1000 to have t installed.. Might as well finance it along with the car and not have to worry about it later.

technically, its a dealer option.

But, yes get it. its way worth the cash. I have a friend that is supercharged, and he beats me off the line each and every time we race.

yes, it is a huge help, both in hooking up on the line, autocross, and driving in inclement conditions and terrain. get it, honestly, i think it should be standard on all cars.

No it comes with the car. My friend works at the dealership and Ill be working there too as of Friday. I think I would know..

If you dont know what your talking about keep your rediculous comments to yourself. Seriously I order a car a certain way and they say hey cars here to pick it up. But uh even tho you financed the car with a LSD and lip kit you still need to come pay more money to have the car the way you already paid for.

Hmmm that seems really Freaking rediculous dont you think..

Is the TRD a rebranded Quaife LSD? I would honestly consider the Quaife before going with the TRD.

The TRD is a "Clutch Type - Driveshaft Torque Activated" 1.5-way LSD, and the Quaife that I talked about is a "Geared Torque-Sensitive Differential".

Just realized I answered my own question above, actually. Still would go with the Quaife, just for preference.

dude it doesn't come installed on the car from factory or installed for free at the dealership. that's why they have disclaimers on all of the TRD parts on the scion website stating that the price doesn't include installation and that installation would be an additional charge.

don't believe me go check out there site for your self... click the little thing called a disclaimer....

Unexpectedterror is right. Why would the dealership out themselves of some good cash? you can buy the LSD, but they will just stick it in your trunk and let you drive off with it.

Wow, some of the misinformation in this thread is ridiculous.

The TRD LSD is a Quiafe unit, just rebranded as TRD.

As for the installation of the unit itself, if you purchase it at the time of purchasing the car, you pay the price of the unit only. You don't have to pay extra for installation. That price they have listed, $1350 (MSRP) is what you pay. If the dealership is trying to charge you for installation, you need to talk to someone, because they shouldn't be.

I'm really confused then, because I'm not seeing anywhere that Quaife makes a clutched LSD.
