FINALLY! Intake INSTALLED - Updated
I had a $50 coupon for fujiz.com and finally ordered my Injen Intake (in Black)! Though after the coupon and shipping... it was only about $3 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.
But you gotta love the fuji! And any Scikotics members get a 5% discount on anything!
I'll be sure to post up pics of the install/completion as soon as I get it. I wanted to post b/c I was happy that I finally got to order an actual "performance" part.

Is the RD one the same as Injen that everyone else is getting? I pulled this from their site right now.

good choice man. in my opinion it is the best mod ive done, dollar for dollar. but i also have not done many mods either. just remember to wrap up the second pipe so it doesnt get scratched maneuvering it into the fender opening - by far the most difficult part for me. i also removed the mafs wire from its bracket to give some slack on it. the new mafs location stretches the wire. youll love it the first time you let her rip, its like driving a different car...well it sounds different at least. good luck
Echoing everyone else... about time, Allan!
This was probably my favorite mod so far on my car. Even though that second pipe was hell and a half, it was well worth it and you can feel the difference from the moment you give it some go.

So I got this installed last night... except now my windows don't work and my sunroof don't work!! WTF?! Did I do something wrong?! OMGZ0RZ!

Didn't bother with pics of the install because there is a DIY thread on it already and there are plenty of other pics out there.
The instructions from Injen are pretty lame. They're more like a "basic idea" of how to install. They don't tell you where the nuts/bolts are to remove things and don't tell you what sizes they are (look for the DIY here in the forums if you want better instructions). And the one thing I had trouble with is mounting that piece for the MAFS wire. It's supposed to go into the two holes that are pre-drilled on the CAI... but mine would NOT fit. I think the smaller hole was TOO small. I ended up filing off a little of the smaller prong and made it fit enough that once the MAFS wire was connected, it was secure enough to not move. That MAFS wire is kind of tight there... but oh well.
Even though I've read most of the crap about it on here, I STILL had a hell of a time getting the lower pipe in place. I all but completely removed the fender liner to get it in there (was trying to avoid that though).
Once installed, I let the car idle for about 15 min while I put the bumper back on and made sure everything was secure. I did hear a faint "ticking" sound most people talk about but I'm pretty sure it went away b/c I definitely don't hear it while driving now.
As for water and hydrolock... I drove about 20 miles to work today in the POURING RAIN. And no issues. I figure if it didn't lock up on me this morning, I'll be good to go. Plus... as you install it, you can tell that the area where the filter is, is actually kind of a little "sealed" compartment. That is... there's no direct path for water to even really splash onto the filter.
So my 12 hour review...
I do like it. Though I've never had a CAI on any vehicle before this, so the sound is something I'll have to get used to. I may be the only one who doesn't really care for it. It occasionally sounds cool, but so far it just makes me wonder if everything is OK.
I *think* that I feel a bit more power. I can't really say for sure b/c it may just all be in my head. I'm pretty sure there's some difference though.
Overall... I'm satisfied with it.
I'll post a pic of two of it actually installed later tonight. Didn't get any yet b/c I was in a hurry to get some dinner after I was finished.

Hehe... actually, if you read it, I'm joking about the window thing. It's working fine now. I've locked enough of the "my windows don't work" post to recite them in my sleep.
