the dry filter? How did you wash it? Soap and water?

Also, when you first put the filter on the lower piping, how far did you push the filter in before tightening it? A little bit? Deeper?

Yea just rinse it with warn soapy water and let it dry.

Put in on just far enough for the clamp to have something to clamp against.

 

Ah ok, I think I pushed mine is a little bit more..

So further out is better?

 

I dont think that it really matters just as long as the filter is on. Lets say 1-2 inches from the end of the intake pipe.

Do you oil it?

Dont think it's meant to be oiled, dry flow.

 

One thing about cleaning filters dry or oiled is not to use warm or hot water when washing cuz the cotton gauze in the filter will shrink. Then when drying let it sit and drip dry might take a while but It will last twice as long.

 

i oiled it, instructions tole me to do it :]

i put it all the wayy in! dont wanna suck in a lot of water since its raining this week ... ill put it back down once the rain stops.
