Default Getting the O2 sensor off

Hey, I am thinking about installing some headers to my TC and I notice I have to take the sheild off the stock one. It looks pretty straight forward by taking off the bolts that hold it on the stock headers. But the one thing I can't figure out is how to take off the 02 sensor on this thing too get the sheild completely off. I don't want to to break it or anything. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreicated.

Follow the wire from the o2 sensor to the connector(by the engine cover) and just unplug it. Slip the heat shield off over the o2.

Go to Autozone and buy a 02 sensor socket and it comes right out. Unless of course yours melts to the manifold like mine and it takes you an hour of work to get it out. It also cost me $205 for a new A/F Ratio sensor!

Hey SupraWhiteTc I have noticed on the list of mods to your car you
have Nology plug wire Conversion. Do you like it or is it not worth the
180 dollars or so?

I just took my O2 sensor out to install the alpha werks header and just by taking it out of the stock manifold, the threads were destroyed. Now I have to pay $220 for a new one.

NOT HAPPY!

Everyone should be warned, it is a common problem with the O2 sensor. Mine was off the day before and put back on with no issues, the following day I pulled it off to install my DC header. The O2 was hanging up, sure enough it was stripped, luckily the parts guy at Toyota only hit me up for $135.00.

I believe the issue is when the engine compartment has not fully cooled down. The steel header/cat retains heat and the O2 crappy metal with heat expansion creates this fatal situation of the O2 sensor.

If I was admin I would get with the experts and post a note in the tech/header section on the O2 sensors, at $200 bones it is a definite must need to know

Well. At least it didn't strip the threading in the manifold.
