Default Greddy Catch Can Works and a question.

Wednesday night I installed the Greddy can (took a few hours to figure out a good place for it...pics tonight). Drove for a hundred miles since then and noticed there was oil in the line to the can already this afternoon. I guess I didn't expect that to happen so fast. Not much, about half a spoon full, but I presume it's better than the oil going into the intake. $80 mod works and looks great.

I do have one question, with the kit came a small chrome plug. WTF is that for? I would read the instructions....but I bought it off ebay and only 4 words are in english "Greddy Oil Catch Can"

Hey ScionDad,
I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I have one for you. Could you give me the link that you purchased that exact one from? I went on ebay and there are soo many, and I figure if you are satisfied with the product and delievery from the person you bought, then I would buy from them as well.

Thanks in advance,
Ty

I bought from thse guys

Be aware, this is the wrong size fittings. The TC needs the 9mm, not the 15mm. I didn't see them have any more 9mm ones listed. But if you contact them, they can probably get you one.

If I had to over again, I would probably get this version. It looks much easier to install in our little engine bays and it mounts up or sideways.

how does the thing work and how did you install it?

edit: just googled and it seems to be a relatively easy DIY according to this guy here, http://www.integra.orcon.net.nz/catchcan

is it worth the $80 for a greddy unit?[/url]

When you take the engine cover off, you will see a black hose going from the back passenger side of the head cover to the intake manifold. This hose is 9mm size(it looks bigger because it has a black rubber shield) and only about 8 inches long. Remove this hose. Mount the oil catch tank and feed one new hose to the head cover and the other new hose to the intake.

It is a separator tank to keep oil out of your intake. The crankcase air is routed back into the intake after it passes thru the tank where it drops any oil or sludge. It really does work since I already have oil in there.

Finding a mount spot for the first ebay listed item was a pain. Making sure it fit when the hood closed was the biggest issue because it sat upright. The second ebay item would work much easier because it can lay flat. Since I removed my stock CAI for a K&N, I had plenty of room.

I'm not sure...I just trust greddy. I've seen people make them out of 2 coffee cans . Problem is, if they leak, it's a mess. There are some knock off's, just make sure they are not plastic.

I made one of these for under 20 bucks. It works great and takes about 5 minutes to install. All you need is an air compressor filter and the hose. You do the same exact thing as said above but it'll save ya roughly 60 bucks. You can pick up the filter at wal-mart for 11 bucks and you can even get a few different colors (mines blue and I think theres black and red ones) I'll post some pics when I can, its not as nice looking as the greddy but its not too bad looking and its just as functional and a lot cheaper.

did the greddy one come with those stainless steel hoses? Also how do you like the redline hood dampers?

The Greddy comes with clear hose with the fiberglass weaved in it. It too looks really good, but there was not enough to do both lines, so I just went and got the other hoses.

The hood damper is a classy mod IMO. Most people aren't used to seeing the hood going up like that anymore. That's the mod everyone in person seems to like the most. And it was one of the cheapest The rod is quality and the installation is well thought and explained. Actually a fun mod to do as well.

The can has a view tube to see as it fills.

The hood lift is very easy to install
