Default Has anyone changed their final drive ratio (ring/pinion)?

I have a 2006 TC with a Turbo putting out about 360 WHP and want to put taller gears since I have more HP and I'm almost a redline in 4th at the end of the quarter mile.
Have you done this? and if so what ratio did you use?

w/out turbo youd have to downshift to pass cars on the interstate and such but you would get better highway mileage. also youd have to ride the clutch a little bit more =/ as long as you knew what you were doing and didnt ride it anymore than necessary youd probably be fine.

Good idea, and you might also want to add install the LSD since you're taking the tranny apart.

changing the final drive will affect ALL gears though, meaning it could affect some lower gears as well... just a thought to keep in mind.

if you're happy with all the other gears, you might just want to replace 4th....

though i think you are just wasting your time anyway..
