I noticed the other day that if my car is in nuetral(MT) and I set the cruise control is will rev up the motor, and it got to like redline before I figured out what was goin on. Before I hear crap about setting my cruise while in nuetral, it was butt early in the morning and I wasnt quite awake yet and I was coming up to a red light and put it in nuetral to coast to it, but it turned green so I just reset the cruise

yeah, somebody made a post about this, almost worded it exactly the way you did long ago, made me have to go out and try it. quite a funny little quirk.

 

Yea not even my old 97 jetta would do this...kinda weird an 08 would

Yea there was a post before like drax said. Apparently the computer doesnt realize what gear realize what gear your in or sumthin.
