header install
Hey guys, I went to the hobby shop on base to fix my squeeky spring and to install the headers. I fixed my spring really fast and felt good, went to knock out the header, and I cant get the two black brackets that attach to the header. I tried using a socket wrench and I wd40'd it and it wouldnt budge, I feel like I dont have enough room. Any advice on how to get it off, its the only thing stopping me!

get a long breaker bar with the correct size socket i forget what size..but from the top of the car lookin down simply take the long breaker bar if can get one and use that as levarage to break it loose.....its easier then doing it from the bottom of the car ill never get done i had the same issue i just use a long breaker bar with a socket from the top of the car to gain more room

I fail, I had both a breaker bar and air ratchet with me. Ya I had the car on the lift, looked up from the bottom and said F that. There is those 2 metal pipes that are getting in my way.

How much power or torque do the headers really add and what is the inverstment? With them how much power would the power would the supercharger put out? How much were the headers and how many hours to install? Where should I purchase them? Stan

If I remember, I took them off with an air gun. I may or may not have used an extension but I don't remember them being that bad but who knows why they are giving you issues. Corrosion and heat can really make things a pain.

I know those 2 in fact makes the most gains for 4-2-1 designs or headers.
For 4-1 designs go with the cheap ebay ones is the same as expensive Alphawerks ones, I got both and really you cant tell them apart beside the name on the Alphawerks header.
Changing the header is a good gain compared to an Intake or Axleback, but most of the time, raspy notes will sound from the exhaust.

get a box wrench, put it on the nut with the open end sticking out where you can turn it alittle, then get a long piece of pipe put it over the open end.
hold on to the end of the pipe and apply pressure till it comes loose,
or if you cant apply enough pressure, have a friend slowly raise the lift while you hold the pipe still, it will come then
