Header rattle not rasp. Help.
Ok so I picked up a set of OBX headers for $50 and it sounds great no rasp until about 5500rpm. My only issue is that it sounds like some metal is rattling. It's fine at idle until I get to about 2k rpm. I checked all the bolts and nothing. My only thought was that since it was used I had to reuse my OEM metal gasketsbetween the header and the block. Would this be why it's rattling. This is a seriously annoying sound.
Why did you have to reuse your OEM gasket? All you need to do is go to the dealership and buy a new one..buying a used header has nothing to do with it. Hell my weapon-r header didn't come with a gasket so I bought a new one.
You should never reuse a gasket like that.

So I went under the car this morning and found that the header is pushing the s-pipe into heat sheid in the center of the car. Has this happened to anyone and what can I do about this. I don't want to remove the heat sheild.
That's no excuse for reusing a gasket. Putting on a different header/manifold onto a reused gasket means there is no guarantee it will seal properly a 2nd time. You should never reuse a gasket.
As far as the spipe goes - you may need to get an aftermarket one like the invidia which is straighter and has less bends in it. But I'm sure someone else can chime in on that.

idk man if the header is pushing on the spipe that's fitment issues with the header. OBX is pretty crap so I wouldn't be surprised about it pushing ur spipe.
but yess u need a new gasket always when u remove it lol

Well if the header is meant to be a 2 piece like the weapon R then I can see why it would have fitment issues with the stock spipe. But I have no idea since I'm not familiar with this particular header.
I'm just gonna see if I can make a temporary fix until I get the funds together for a proper s-pipe. Maybe I can just bend it out of the way or use rubber washers or something without having to remove the heat sheild. I'd rather remove the header than the heat sheild.
